As early as 1954, Robert Haussmann designed his famous metal chair RH-301 from chrome-plated flat steel as a homage to Mies van der Rohe - it was produced by de Sede.
With this chair, Haussmann drew on the Bauhaus maxim that the design and the material used must correspond to the intended purpose, and with his interpretation he also paid homage to the great Mies van der Rohe. Haussmann knew how to design his implementation in an ingenious way, which was appropriately recognized with an award from the "compaso d'oro". The RH-301 was also the start of the cooperation and founding of a Swiss designer association that would later make world history - in 1958, the design association Swiss Design was formed from the collaboration with Hans Eichenberger, Robert and Peter Haussmann, Theo Jakob and Kurt Thut .
