Louis Weisdorf designed the Turbo pendant light as early as 1965. A simple shape and yet complex structure create both lightness and power in the Turbo.

The geometric shapes appear to be in motion and are reminiscent of the turbines of a turbocharger, hence the name of the sculptural pendant lamp by Gubi: twelve identical aluminum spirals form the iconic exterior. Weisdorf also used Japanese rice paper lamps as a model, which give the Turbo pendant lamp its design lightness.

The nested slats form a light sculpture that shields the light source and allows only indirect light through the openings.

Gubi produces the Turbo pendant lamp by Louis Weisdorf in two sizes:

Small: diameter 36 cm

Large: Diameter: 62 cm
